

The correct thing to use here is either a very small fret crowning file (that doesn't always work if the frets are low), or a standard file with the edges ground smooth so it can slide across the fretboard without doing damage. You do not want to take additional material off the tops that you just leveled, and you do not want to round off the ends. You want to take off metal from the side to reform the crown.
